THE INTIMATE PORTRAIT, A STORY OF CARE

A compelling and intimate portrait is often the fruit of a joint work between the photographer and the model, as well as the result of a deep reflection by the artist.

After a study of contemporary photography, Émilie Hallard guides the participants in their reflection and approach to intimate portraiture, in how to elaborate careful narratives, discourses and representations, and in the creation of their portraits.

WHAT WILL WE LEARN?
From a queer and anti-racist perspective, Émilie offers tools to create intimate portraits such as:
– the initial contact with the models,
– the poses, the body language, the emotions of the people portrayed,
– the direction of the models
– composition and graphic elements
– the use of light and space
– the care and ethics of working from an intimate point of view.
